Client: National Trust

We were given the opportunity to work with the National Trust on their Back to Backs site in Birmingham City centre.


National Trust have recently undergone a major re-brand and so the signage at this site needed to be updated to show their new identity and brand colours.

Being surrounded by large attractions such as the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre and the Arcadian entertainment venue, the site was going unnoticed by the public. One of the main objectives of the brief was therefore to highlight the location to bring in more footfall. This was achieved by creating a simple, eye-catching design for the signage, choosing a striking colour from the brand colour palette, which would attract the public’s attention from a distance.

We were also given the task of designing a bespoke timber notice cabinet that would be sympathetic to the character of the property, to display information and forthcoming events. Both the client and ourselves were extremely pleased with the finished project and the new signage has been successful in gaining more business for the Back to Backs site.
